STEPHANIE LUCAS: “Signs and Traits of Lightworkers: Earthbound Energy Healers”

Lightworkers

Lightworkers are those who ‘shed love and light’ on shadowy topics and dark situations like fear, doubts, worries, and other troubling issues. (These issues may arise though the aid of a shadow worker, but many lightworkers can also work in the shadows – another topic for another time.) They have an uncanny ability to connect consciously with Divine Light through energy and intentions, transforming lower vibrations into higher, light vibrations.

LightworkersSome people believe lightworkers are cosmic relatives of the Pleiadian Family of Light… some believe them to be Earth Angels… some believe that Starseeds and Indigos have lightworker potential. They may speak the language of the Fae or Angels… they may speak of quantum science, sacred geometry, and mystical realms, and often don ethereal styles of clothing.

Honestly, there is no definitive answer as to where these earthbound energy healers come from or what we should call them. That being said, I believe that anyone has the potential to be a one of these superheroes, and most can agree upon some of the common psychological characteristics and traits of lightworkers.

Unique Traits of Lightworkers

Individualists that Embrace Cosmic Oneness

While sensing that they are a bit different from others and often taking unique paths in life, lightworkers are keen to the connectedness of all things, the oneness of the universe, and understand the encompassing energetic flow of consciousness that is all that surrounds us.

Sense the Need to Return to Incarnate Home

Lightworkers often struggle to feel at home on this earthly plane, and they may carry subconscious or even conscious memories of other soul entities of light that surrounded them at their time of incarnation. Their souls may feel homesick because they intrinsically sense they are not of this world, but rather fell attuned with the cosmos – what may be the source of us all.

Art-18B

Lived Many Lifetimes in Earthly Realm & Karmic Burdens

While they sense their cosmic origins, lightworkers have likely reincarnated many times over, perhaps previously serving in religious or spiritual paths such as mystics, psychics, nuns, priests, mystics, sages, witches, or shamans, etc. While likely not religious in this realm, this past likely lends to their abilities to provide a bridge between the mysterious realms of good and evil, light and dark, and the visible and the invisible.

Burdened by Past Incarnations

Perhaps persecuted in ancient times for their mysterious abilities, lightworkers may carry a heavy Karmic burden, just one of the many Pitfalls of Lightworkers. It is also believed that many of these souls opt-in at their time of incarnation to do these works within the light in an effort to ‘make up’ for some ‘wrongdoing’ against nature. Helping earthly inhabitants heal from the effects of control, shame, and fear based the past and current Lies and Illusions may ultimately help lightworkers ultimately free themselves of karmic burdens and let them move onto higher realms.

Lightworkers

More Common Traits of Lightworkers

The aforementioned are some of the more in-depth signs of energy healers who work with light, and here’s a brief list of some of the more recognized traits of lightworkers.

  • Drawn to Helping Careers: Your social workers, medical professionals, teachers, therapists, and other advocates for humanity are often lightworkers. However, some may find the organized structure of these jobs too constraining and may work in anti-authoritarian positions, become writers, artists, and activists.
  • Respect All Life and are Often Vegans: The love and light extend beyond humans to the animal kingdom and lightworkers are typically very protective of nature and the environment as a whole. Many opt out of meat eating because it invokes deep feelings of grief when they do.
  • Hypersensitive Empathic Abilities: Lightworkers exhibit most Signs of Being an Empath, and they are highly sensitive to negative energies, aggression, and the moods of those around them. This may cause them to isolate themselves, preferring to spend time in their own idealistic, dreamy world when not doing light work in the physical realm.
  • Have No Fear of Death: Because they understand their Devine place as eternal, immortal, energetic beings – the fear of death is typically non-existent to these energy healers.

Do you believe in earthbound healers such as lightworkers or do you think you are one, know one, have the potential to work in the light as an energy healer? Tell us what you think or share your experience…

SOUL SCIENCE: “8 Important Tips to Staying Balanced As An Empath”

10 Important Tips to Stay Balanced As An Empath

Are you an empath? Do you feel like a sponge absorbing all the energy from people around you? This could be good or bad energy but nonetheless harmful to our minds and bodies in the long run. All humans have  male and female energies. One helps us with our thinking and the other symbolizes our emotions. Once the balance is gone, you feel out-of-place, irritated, tired, you find that you have less motivation and less energy. Empaths are mostly dominated by the female energy when they don’t know how to keep the balance in order to protect themselves. They are more intuitive, they sense things more and faster than others, they absorb others’ vibrations to the point where they can’t exercise their own will at times. If you are one of those people who find it hard to balance yourself as an empath, here are 8 tips to help you how:

  1. Take control of your emotions, get in charge

You are the boss! Repeat this, you are the boss! When you notice someone’s bad vibes or destructive emotional ups and downs, remind yourself this. Do not let these vibrations take control of your body and mind. Remember that you can have a protective shield around you and you are not a sponge. It is good to be intuitive, it is good to have strong senses, so use these qualities in a positive way for yourself and don’t let the information that flows into your system overpower you. Keep a mental distance that will enable you to see things from a healthier perspective.

  1. Your will power matters

Empaths find it hard to use their will powers to their advantage once they lose their balance. Sometimes, to the degree of feeling other people’s wills as if they’re their own. It might get confusing. In times like these, it is a good idea to take notes, write things down about you and what you need and what you want. Go back to these notes when you feel you are getting further away from yourself and about to take a path that is not meant to be yours. Never feel guilty for having will power, it does not make you selfish, it only makes you stronger and it protects you.

  1. Turn the lights off, mentally

When you realize things are getting overwhelming, and you find yourself consumed with bad or negative vibrations coming from all corners, shut down your channels. It is like turning the lights off mentally, it is your way of telling yourself enough! Because you need time on your own and away from all these mind tangling energies around you to sort out where you are, where you should be, what your feelings are and how you can help yourself.

  1. Know when to run

When we say run, of course we don’t mean it in a bad way. You have people you care about and they need your help and support, but when you find yourself in an emotionally draining situation, or if this is a repeating situation that leaves you drained and unmotivated, it is time to run. Get yourself out of that situation. Listen to the signs your mind and your body are giving you. Trust your gut feelings and if something doesn’t feel right do not get involved with it.

  1. Take good care of your body

A good diet can help you balance your immune system and metabolism. But not only that, when you have a balanced body, your energy levels will be higher and you will feel healthier. Make a list when you eat things and figure out which ones give you discomfort and which ones make you feel sick or tired. Try to eat natural organic foods and stay away from processed foods as much as you can. Yoga, tai-chi, martial arts, jogging, walking… any exercise will help your brain release more endorphins naturally and this will help you tremendously in finding back your balance too.

  1. Don’t forget your mind

You need to take care of your mind too as much as your body. You need those gray brain cells to function properly. A daily meditation, especially mindfulness meditation can help you with this. You can also try transcendental meditation. They both help keep you in the present moment and with breathing exercises and repeating mantras, you can reorganize your brain and get rid of the thoughts that are not useful to you and that are giving you stress and anxiety.

  1. Positive affirmations

When we put our focus and energy into something that we really want, we have the power to achieve it. Positive affirmations help us in this area. Repeating them daily reprograms our brains and boosts our self-esteem and keeps us focused on our path to self-improvement. Positive affirmations also help us in times when we feel weak and we need to recharge our batteries. Just a few minutes devoted to this practice daily will soon help you in need of emergency. Use this moment when you repeat these affirmations as an emergency break to pull yourself out of a situation and quickly regain your focus and energy.

  1. Reduce your consumption of certain things

Alcohol, caffeine, drugs that are stimulants… All these things are bad habits for everyone but especially when you are an empath they are worse for you. Imagine this: you have your radar on, scanning everyone and everything around you and it’s on autopilot. This scan happens constantly and the results are coming in by the seconds. You are very vulnerable and open to emotional breakdowns. Because your mind doesn’t know how to rest and you get emotionally involved in these things too. Caffeine and drugs that give stimulation will give you panic and anxiety and alcohol will bring you down and make you weaker too. Stay away from these bad habits as much as you can to protect your inner balance.

ALETHEIA LUNA: “11 Signs Your Soul Has Reincarnated Many Times”

11 Signs Your Soul Has Reincarnated Many Times body mind soul spirit BodyMindSoulSpirit.com http://bodymindsoulspirit.com/

by Aletheia Luna

We observe the principles of reincarnation everywhere in life:  the cycles of nature, day and night, the cyclic motion of the sun, earth, moon and solar system.  We also see the principles of reincarnation reflected around us each day: a plant grows, dies and releases its seeds.  Its seeds burrow into the earth, begin to sprout, and new life is reborn once again.

Reincarnation, or the rebirth of energy, or life, occurs all around us in different shapes and forms every day.  Perhaps this is why to many of us reincarnation is something intuitive, something that resonates the very nature, the very essence of life.  We also see that our lives, and everything around us, follows a fundamental pattern; that of change, growth, transformation and evolution.  We see that all of life goes through a maturing process at different rates and different velocities.  Thus to many of us, the maturation process of the soul through the process of reincarnation sounds just as instinctively and fundamentally correct as any other maturing process in life.

Not only that, but some of us have experienced extraordinary feelings, memories and sensations that point to the legitimacy of such a mysterious experience.  We will be exploring many different signs that you might have touched the “other side” in this article.

Past Lives and ‘Your’ Soul

The doctrine of metempsychosis is, above all, neither absurd nor useless … It is not more surprising to be born twice than once; everything in nature is resurrection.  – Voltaire

Known also as “metempsychosis” and “transmigration”, Reincarnation and the concept of past lives has existed for thousands of years, spanning back to the ancient Celtic, Greek, Asian and Indian traditions.  These days, about 51% of the world’s population believe in some form of an afterlife, with about 7% believing that we are ultimately reincarnated.

One of the most intrinsic beliefs of reincarnation is that most of us have lived many lives before, and sometimes we can actually remember these past lives.  These past lives and past ‘selves’ we tend to identify with as extensions of ourselves and our egos.

However, as Sol elaborated in a previous article:

Reincarnation of an ‘individual self’ is only as possible to the extent of believing that your sense of ‘self’ – your ego – is real.  Two identities who are dwelling within two different physical bodies in the present, or in the past, will be two very distinct personalities.  In truth, the ‘I’ is a transitioning, ever-changing phenomenon.  Although our identities and senses of self are ever-changing, there is something that remains the same.  There is something within us that is constant and continuous and that is pure awareness.  It is this very pure awareness which serves as the experiencer and observer of life, and it is this pure awareness that we can refer to as ‘our’ Soul … This understanding of reincarnation closely resembles that of the Buddhist idea that the continuity continues, but the individual disappears.

So although it is not necessarily “you” or “me” who has experienced reincarnation and past lives, the ever-present soulful essence within us has.

11 Signs Your Soul Has Reincarnated

When we understand reincarnation as the maturation process, or evolution, of soulful energy, it follows that some of us have intuitively experienced different things in our lives that reflect on the age of the energy known as our souls.  It is commonly believed that many of our personal characteristics, experiences and capabilities in this life reflect on whether we have lived before on earth.  It is thought that the more we mature, the more gifted we are in certain areas of life and the more frequently we have ‘spiritual’ experiences.

The truth is that all of us have most likely reincarnated, however some of us have gone through this cycle more than others and therefore experience many of the following characteristics:

1.  Recurring Dreams

Dreams are reflections of the unconscious mind, and while repetitive dreams may sometimes signify trauma, fear or issues that your brain is trying to process (“unfinished business”), repetitive dreams can also potentially be reflections of past life experiences.  Many people claim to have experienced certain events, seen particular people or gone to specific places frequently in their dreams that feel very familiar, and somehow recognizable.  For example, I often have recurring dreams of a 15th century castle that I have a distinct feeling of knowing very well, yet I have never seen or been to this castle before in waking life.

Related: Top 40 Dream Symbols And Their Meanings

 2.  Out-of-place Memories

There are many recorded instances of young children who have out-of-place memories that later prove to be oddly accurate in detail.  While out-of-place memories could be due to simple fantasies, misunderstandings or an incongruency in the ability to remember, there is mounting evidence that suggests out-of-place memories could reveal connections to past lives.

3.  You Have a Strong Intuition

Intuition is the ability to balance the conscious and unconscious mind and to tap into our deeper wellsprings of primal wisdom and innate knowledge.  It is said that the more we soulfully mature, the more we are closer to returning to the ‘source’ (known also as nirvana, eternity, oneness) from which our Souls come from, and from which the collective unconscious  – a body of universal knowledge – exists.

4.  Déjà vu

We’ve all experienced déjà vu before at some point in our lives.  It’s that bizarre feeling that somehow we have already experienced or lived a moment in time before.  Often déjà vu comes spontaneously, and is triggered by smells, sounds, sights, tastes and various other sensations.  While some claim that déjà vu is a neurological dissonance, others claim that déjà vu reflects the possibility of other dimensions (i.e. parallel universes), and still others believe it is revealing of past life experience.

5.  You’re an Empath

Empaths absorb the emotions, and in some instances the physical pains, of those around them literally empathizing, or directly feeling and experiencing what others experience.  In this article about Empaths I go into greater depth about this unique breed of people.  While identifying as an Empath and absorbing the emotions of others could be seen in some instances as a psychological form of avoidance to bypass one’s own problems and pin the blame on others, in other genuine cases it can be seen as a sign of a soul that has undergone many previous reincarnations and has refined to the point of transcending the individual self and it’s problems, extending to others as well.

6.  Precognition

Also known as ‘future sight’ or ‘second sight’, precognition is the ability to obtain information about future events that isn’t usually available.  Precognition can be experienced through visions, physical sensations and feelings as well as in dreams.  While considered quasi-scientific by some, to others precognition is a very real experience and could indicate the maturation of soulful energy.

7.  Retrocognition

You probably guessed it!  Retrocognition is the opposite of the above precognition, and refers to the ability to obtain information not usually available about past events.  These past events could be in your own lifetime, or sometime in the distant past.  Of course, retrocognition unlike precognition is not easy to prove or verify, however, for those who have genuinely experienced it (and have been able to honestly verify it), this ability could also be a sign of soulful reincarnation.

8.  You Feel Older Than Your Age Reflects

Some people are perpetually “young at heart” even into their later lives, and in the same manner,  some people just seem to have been born with “Old Souls”.  The experience of feeling older than your age reflects is commonly associated with having reincarnated many times over and this is echoed in the “Soul Age” theory where there is a certain progression of soulful development: from Infant Souls, to Awakened Souls.  For example: if you have reincarnated few times on earth, this would be reflected in the age of your energy, and in this life you will display many primitive and child-like characteristics.  If, however, your soulful energy has reincarnated many times over, you will display many matured and wizened characteristics (such as the ones mentioned in this article).  If you feel older than your age reflects you might be a Mature or Old Soul.  You can read more about Old Souls in depth here.

9.  You Have a Great Affinity for Certain Cultures/Time Periods/Environments

It is said that having a great, unexplainable attraction for certain cultures or time periods is a kind of past life “residue” reminiscent of a certain place, culture or environment that your soul may have experienced in past lives.  For instance, you may have an inexplicable affinity to Asian culture, Celtic artifacts, or the 19th century.

10.  Unexplainable Fears or Phobias

As touched on in the last point, many believe that certain memories or experiences can pass on or leave “residues” in our childhoods and adulthood’s from past lives.  Whether this is true, or is simply a form of problem bypassing, many believe that we can experience the echoes of past traumas in our own lifetimes in the form of unexplainable fears and phobias.  Examples can include:  the fear of drowning, the fear of certain types of animals, the fear of certain places, the fear of particular numbers, colors, objects, and so forth.

11.  You Feel as Though this Earth Is Not Your Home

The yearning to find your ‘home’ can be seen as a reflection of the desire to return back to the source (oneness, consciousness, divinity).  Many people feel this yearning to be reminiscent of an athlete running a long race and longing to reach the ‘finish line’.  In the same manner, Souls that have reincarnated many times over express this basic need for finally completing the cycle and returning home.  Feeling that this earth is not your home is often accompanied by chronic feelings of tiredness and wariness for life on earth.

Could you relate to any of these signs?  Do you have any of your own to share?  I hope, if anything, this article could offer you another doorway of explanation for what you experience in life.  Reincarnation is a mysterious topic, and I’d love if you could share your own experiences with past lives below.

DIANE KATHERINE: “6 Reasons Empaths Freeze Around Inauthentic People”

empathProtection

When an Empath comes across fake people it is common for them to shut down as a form of protection.  This can be seen as stumbling over words or one’s memory and thought process being affected. Anyone who is not emanating truthful vibes will put an Empath on high alert.

In my days as a hairdresser, I could never understand why when I was with certain clients, who came across lovely, I would get awful feelings inside. It was only when I discovered I was an Empath that it all made sense to me. I was feeling their pain that they were hiding in fake behavior.

There are many levels of falseness and many reasons for it. In the early days of discovering of one’s Empathic abilities it may not always be easy to pinpoint just why someone feels so bad to you.

Here are some traits and behaviors that may leave you feeling awful:
  1. Someone who wants to loved by everyone they meet acts overly nice to get adoration.
  2. Someone being filled with hate or anger yet working hard to convince the world otherwise.
  3. Someone having had an emotionally destructive childhood leaving them insecure and in pain, yet playing the tough guy.
  4. Someone building a totally new personality to hide the person they believe will not be accepted by society.
  5. Someone being full of insincere praise for you.
  6. Someone making up stories to make themselves sound interesting

And this is how you may find yourself reacting:

  1. Avoiding being in their presence, yet not really having a reason to do so (as in they did not say or do anything to hurt you).
  2. Not being able to talk to them. Sentences literally won’t form in your mouth and your brain acts like you have no memory. You find yourself just asking questions and if you do talk it feels like it makes no sense.
  3. Having a sense of dread in the pit of stomach that won’t go until you are no longer in said person’s presence.
  4. Any more than an hour spent in their company will drain you and leave you feeling ill.
  5. Feeling guilty because you may like person but dislike how it feels to be with them.
  6. Feeling helpless around them.

Now just because an Empath feels fakeness and untruths in another does not mean they do not fake themselves. For some, when they feel bad around a faker it may mean they are picking up a trait they do not like about themselves and they too hide it from the world.

We all have to put a face on and act fake at some point in our lives, but for some it’s everyday. We may have to be upbeat and happy when we feel sad or depressed, we may have to act annoyed when we are actually indifferent or we may have to pretend to love a job we actually detest. In some cases faking it can get us through difficult situations, but living it daily is not healthy.

It is important for the Empath to uncover any hidden traits and emotions, because whilst we bury a side of us we do not like we will never be happy or feel complete. However, the problem we have is that many of us do not know the root cause.

One of the biggest causes of unhappiness on this planet is people not knowing themselves and when we hide a side of us from others without knowing the reason, it will cause us pain. Being true and authentic is emotionally freeing. Quite often, many of the traits we buried have in fact been inherited and passed down the family line or they may even be from a past life. Wherever they stemmed from it is important for us to uncover these traits, and if they can’t be changed (some traits are hardwired), accept and learn to live with them.

Sensitive people will bury negative traits because we know how destructive they are but burying them does not lose them. They will always show up and cause damage.

Hate, anger, jealousy and fear of rejection are four traits most often buried. We may hate someone for the way they have behaved towards us. Anger may have been inherited from an angry parent. Praise and attention being bestowed on a childhood friend or sibling may have led to a jealous streak and being rejected as a child, by an unknowing parent for instance, may have built up inside as an intense fear of rejection. All very simple and innocent triggers, but all of which can snowball and lead us to have deep set insecurities that we feel have to remain hidden. When we recognize and accept a trait in self, it loses its hold.

DYLAN HARPER: “Empowerment Through Sensitivity: The 10 Types Of Empaths”

10-Mind-Blowing-Theories-That-Will-Change-Your-Perception-of-the-World-1

Our sensitivity can empower us in ways we can’t quite understand. Find out what kind of an empath you are and how you can become a better person through simple awareness.

In today’s society, sensitivity is viewed as a weakness, which is kind of ironic because our sensitivity can be quite empowering.

So, how can we become empowered by a trait that makes us soft and delicate, in a world dominated by loud and overpowering people? Yes, it is true that many empaths may seem weak and even get overpowered, but there is another aspect to this sensitivity.

Deep down, way beyond the veil of our superficial personas, all empaths have something distinctly quiet and quite powerful. This power doesn’t dominate or overpower people but rather empowers one in an extremely useful way.

This gift allows empaths to benefit in the long term by gathering psychological, emotional, and physical information from their surroundings. This information is usually inaccessible to the unreceptive mind.

Although it is indeed correct that empaths cannot bully people or use brute force, they can however, protect, guide, heal, and deeply understand the people around them.

In this way, they can gather incredible amounts of information and how they use this knowledge is at their discretion. Knowledge is, after all, the greatest power.

Think You Are An Empath?

If you suspect that you are more sensitive than the people around you, then continue reading to find out if you too are an empath in an insensitive world.

If you really are an empath, you will recognize some of these experiences that are faced by most empaths:

  • You tend to absorb other people’s feelings and emotions and experience them as your own
  • You consistently feel mental and physical fatigue
  • Your emotional state tends to swing throughout a day based on external stimuli
  • If someone close to you is in physical pain, you can feel their pain in your own body
  • You cherish solitude, which helps you refresh and recharge
  • People prefer to come to you with their problems
  • You simply cannot bear violence or cruelty
  • You are naturally caring and nurturing
  • You are an excellent listener
  • Your awareness of our physical environment is greater than normal, e.g. your sense of taste, smell, hearing, touch, etc.
  • Crowded places tend to overwhelm and drain you
  • Animals and children seem to be attracted to you

Different Types of Empaths

Yes, being an empath can have many benefits, but at the same time, it can also weigh you down and cause anxiety. This is one of the reasons why it is important to understand our individual experiences in the hope to better understand ourselves.

The following is a list of different types of empaths and a small description to help you understand what kind of an empath you may be.

1. Physically Receptive Empath

Many empaths seem to be receptive to the physical pains and illnesses of other people. The pain can manifest in the empath’s own body – an ability which has proven to be extremely useful in healing.

2. Emotionally Receptive Empath

Almost all empaths are extremely receptive of external emotional states. This can result in physically and emotionally feeling other people’s emotions before they are expressed.

3. Claircognizant Empath

Claircognizant empaths have the ability to know if something needs to be done or if a statement of a person’s intentions is true or misleading, without any rational reasoning. Such empaths have the ability to know if they should do something or not.

4. Geomantic Empaths

These empaths have the ability to read signals and energy transmitted from the soil or earth. Meaning, they can feel if a natural disaster is impending.

5. Fanna Empath

Fanna empaths can feel, hear, and interact with animals.

6. Medium Empath

Medium empaths, as the name suggests, can either feel, see or hear spirits.

7. Flora Empath

Slightly similar to Fanna Empaths, as they can communicate with plants by being able to feel or receive their signals.

8. Psychometric Empath

These empaths develop the ability to receive energy, impressions, and information from inanimate objects such as jewelry, photographs, etc.

9. Telepathic Empath

Telepathic empaths can accurately read another peron’s unexpressed thoughts.

10. Precognitive Empath

Such empaths can feel a situation or event before its occurrence. These usually manifests in the form of dreams of emotional or physical sensations.

In this insensitive and coarse world, empaths can often find it difficult to maintain their inner harmony. But with self-awareness, everyone, including empaths, can learn to appreciate their unique gifts and abilities.

Hopefully, this article will help you find some answers to your questions. We would love it if you would share your experiences with us all.

ANDREA SCHULMAN: “Are You Energy Sensitive? 6 Telling Signs”

Are you energy sensitive? Here are some powerful practices to overcome the feeling of "I'm delusional"

1. Deep empathy for others:

You can often spot the most energy sensitive person in the room when there is someone around who is hurt or upset.  Energy sensitive people are often the “first responders,” there to hold a hand, give a hug or lend a listening ear.  Energy sensitive people often feel other people’s emotions (and sometimes their physical pain too), and so they easily understand and empathize with people who are suffering.

2. Emotional rollercoasters:

Having a keen sense of vibrational energy often means that the high times feel very high but the low times feel very low.  Having some plans in place to help you raise your vibration can be very helpful,  especially during low times!

3. Addictions:

Being energy sensitive means you “feel” a lot more than many people.  To avoid feeling low vibrational energy, these individuals may lean on substances like drugs or alcohol in order to numb out the pain of negative sensory input.  They may also have a proclivity for other types of addictions, like food, gambling or shopping.

4. Being an excellent judge of character:

Energy sensitive people are often very aware of other people’s motivations, and many times they can “just tell when” someone is bad news.  This can be a very beneficial trait, as it makes one less likely to be conned or taken advantage of.

5. Possible introversion:

Not all sensitive folks are introverts, but many often are.  It can be overwhelming to take on the emotions and feelings of other people, and so often energy sensitive people withdraw and seek alone time in order to stabilize. They are often likely to feel drained after prolonged social interactions.

6. Receiving signs:

People who are sensitive to energy are much more likely to be aware of the signs the universe is sending to them.  They are more likely to find meaning in events and circumstances that most other people see as simply “coincidental.”

As you can see, being energy sensitive is a bit of a double-edged sword.  Being attuned to vibrational energy allows one to have a deeper understanding of the universe, but it also can lead to a degree of overstimulation, and this can cause a variety of problems if left unaddressed.

If you think you may be energy sensitive, there are a number of things you can do harness the power of your gifts and cope with the struggles of sensitivity.

First and foremost, anything that can help you intentionally raise your vibration or the vibration of your environment can be highly beneficial.  I personally recommend daily meditation or yoga for mental (and physical) training.  Saging your home and workspace regularly is also recommended.

Be mindful of the people you surround yourself with, and allow yourself to step away from toxic people, events and circumstances when you are feeling overwhelmed.  It is also very important to work toward self-acceptance, and learn how to love yourself and your gifts.

Being born into this world as an energy sensitive person comes with a unique set of responsibilities.  The constant influx of energy from one’s environment can be a overwhelming and painful at times.

However, when one learns how to manage this gift, great things can happen.  Reading energy and being able to empathize with others can be a tremendous asset.  Energy sensitive folks are well-equipped to evoke positive change in the world, and have the capacity to be some of the world’s greatest leaders, healers and teachers.

So, do you think you are energy sensitive?

Thanks for reading,

Andrea

JENN GRANNEMAN: “12 Things a Highly Sensitive Person Needs”

highly sensitive person needs

If you’re a highly sensitive person like me, you know little things can be too much. Busy environments, violent images in movies, or weekends with little downtime can stress you out. Because you’re so in tune with your environment and other people, life can be pretty exhausting, which makes you withdraw — and non-sensitives don’t understand.

But there’s nothing wrong with you and you’re not alone. High sensitivity is actually fairly common, found in 15 to 20 percent of the population, according to Dr. Elaine N. Aron, author of the book, The Highly Sensitive Person. Both introverts and extroverts can be sensitive, as well as people of all personality types, although high sensitivity is probably more common among INFPs and INFJs.

What’s your personality type? We recommend this free personality test from our partner Personality Hacker.

Sadly, because many people don’t understand what high sensitivity is, you may have been told to “toughen up” or “just get over it.” You may have always felt different from other people, but you didn’t have a name for what you were.

High sensitivity can make life challenging but not impossible. When I’m in a routine and doing plenty of self-care, I forget about my sensitivity. But a recent trip reminded me of just how frazzled my senses can get. I was rushing from one activity to the next, hanging out in loud, crowded bars and restaurants, and meeting many new people. To top it all off, I wasn’t getting enough sleep or the kind of exercise that makes me feel good, like cardio and yoga. After five days of “vacation,” I was completely fried.

How can we as highly sensitive people cope with our trait? Here are 12 things we need:

1. Time to decompress

Noisy, busy environments — like a crowded mall during the holidays, a concert, or a big party — can wreak havoc on a sensitive person’s highly reactive nervous system. Likewise, packed schedules and high-pressure situations, like a job interview or the first day in a new school, are overstimulating. If you know you’ll be in situation that will frazzle you, plan some time to decompress in a quiet space afterward. It’s best if you can be alone.

2. Meaningful relationships

We get bored or restless in relationships that lack meaningful interaction, according to Aron. This doesn’t mean we’re prone to relationship hopping, rather, we actually work harder to inspire intimacy and interesting conversation. It also means we’re selective about the people we let into our lives to begin with.

Interestingly, many sensitive people are great to be in a relationship with because they not only tune in to what’s good for them but also to what’s good for others. They pay close attention to what their significant other wants. Aron calls this characteristic “mate sensitivity,” which means the ability to rapidly figure out what pleases their partner and act based on that intel. This behavior goes for friends, family members, and co-workers as well.

Basically, it makes us happy to make others happy.

3. People who support us

Sensitive people may cry or become emotional a lot. “Sensitive people can’t help but express what they’re feeling,” Aron told the Huffington Post. “They show their anger, they show their happiness. Appreciating that is really important.”

4. A gentle, healthy way of managing conflict

No matter who you are, fighting with a loved one is miserable. But sensitive people tend to feel extra anxious when conflict arises — and an internal battle takes place. We feel torn between speaking up for what we believe is right and sitting back so we don’t provoke an angry reaction from the other person. Often we subjugate our own needs because we’d rather “go along to get along” than fight.

On the other hand, sensitive people can make great conflict resolvers, because we tend to see the other person’s perspective. We have high levels of empathy and can easily put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.

5. Time to get things done

Sensitive people like a slower pace of life. We like pondering all our options before making a decision and regularly reflecting on our experiences. We hate busy schedules and rushing from one event to the next. One of the hardest parts of my day during the work week is getting moving in the morning and leaving my apartment on time. Saturday mornings, when I don’t have to work, are for going at my own pace. It’s calming and restorative to know I don’t have to be dressed and ready to go anywhere anytime soon.

6. Plenty of sleep

Lack of sleep (less than 7 hours a night, for most people) makes the average person irritable and less productive, but lack of sleep for the sensitive person can make life almost unbearable. Getting enough sleep soothes my ramped-up senses and helps me process my thoughts and emotions. How much sleep I get can literally make or break my next day. Without proper sleep, every little stressor seems ten times worse.

7. Healthy meals spaced regularly throughout the day

When I don’t eat regularly, I get hangry. This is because, according to Aron, extreme hunger can mess up a sensitive person’s mood or concentration. To fend off feelings of crankiness and discombobulation, maintain a steady blood sugar level throughout the day by eating regular healthy meals and snacks.

8. Caffeine-free options

Sensitive people (surprise, surprise) are sensitive to caffeine. I drink one cup of coffee in the morning to get me going, but I don’t have any caffeine past noon. Even a mug of green tea later in the day would leave me tossing and turning at night. Plus, having too much caffeine leaves me feeling jittery and wound up in an uncomfortable way.

If you’re sensitive, consider limiting your coffee, soda, and tea intake. Watch out for sneaky sources of caffeine, like chocolate. Remember, the darker the chocolate, the more caffeine. For example, Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Bar has a walloping 31 milligrams of caffeine, almost as much as a can of Coke!

9. A space of our own

If you live with others, make sure you have a quiet place you can retreat to when you need to get away from noise and people. Turn on your favorite music to drown out any unpleasant external noise.

10. Low lighting

If possible, turn off the overhead lights in your home or office and substitute a lamp.

11. Time to adjust to change

Transitions aren’t easy for anybody. (Hey! Who moved my cheese?) But for sensitive people, transitions can be really rough. Even positive changes, like starting a new relationship or moving into a dream home, can be overstimulating and require an extra long period of adjustment. For example, I recently moved into a wonderful new apartment in a city I enjoy, but I literally felt off-kilter for months until I got used to my new situation.

12. Beauty and nature

Like most sensitive people, I’m deeply affected by my surroundings, especially the way they look. Cluttered, chaotic, or just plain ugly environments bother me. I feel calm spending time in nature, my city’s favorite neighborhoods, or my simply decorated apartment (especially when it’s actually clean and tidy!).

When it comes down to it, the key is to embrace your sensitivity rather than work against it. Sensitive people make incredible leaders, partners, and friends. We have high levels of empathy and we’re usually creative and perceptive. Maybe the world could use a little more of what we have.

GREGG PRESCOTT (In5D): “Are You Feeling Empathic Stress?”

Are You Feeling Empathic Stress?

by Gregg Prescott, M.S.
Editor, In5D.com

Are you feeling empathic stress, even when everything in your life is seemingly going well? You are not alone!

Empaths have the ability to sense emotional stress from anybody without any words being spoken.  During a period of time when many people are feeling stress from various factors , empaths seem to take the brunt of these factors and it will most likely manifest in physiological symptoms such as:

  • A feeling of being drained
  • Chest pains
  • A change in sleeping habits
  • Edginess
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Stomach cramps
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Elevated blood pressure
  • Fatigue
  • Vivid or disturbing dreams
  • Physical weakness
  • Loss of appetite or food cravings
  • Unusual weight gain or loss
  • Hot or cold flashes
  • Decreased libido or a toxic buildup in your body,  perhaps from fluoride, chemtrails, aspartame, GMO’s, etc…

If you are an empath, how many of the following issues are you susceptible to?

  • Financial issues
  • Job related stress including changing jobs
  • Additional responsibilities at home or at work
  • Relationship issues at home or at work
  • A change in living conditions
  • Spousal or children issues
  • The recent death of a loved one
  • Changes in personal habits, social activities or religious beliefs
  • Recent illness
  • A change in eating habits
  • Making an important decision involving the near future or legal issues

How often do people, including complete strangers, come up to you for no other reason than to unload their issues on you?

Many empaths are picking up on the overall global morale involving the inevitable crash of the dollar/Euro, banking collapses, war, unemployment, housing issues, etc…

For example, as the political elite continue to spiral the world in unwanted and unwarranted armed conflict, a lot of people are sensing an eminent World War III scenario as the military buildup in the Middle East continues.

As empaths, we always try to focus on the positive things in life but sometimes, the overall global consciousness needs to be readjusted through the absorption of these energies.  While it may take a temporary toll on the empath, please keep in mind how you are contributing to the overall benefit of society and that these feelings will pass.

While you may not realize it, you agreed to be an empath for these exact same reasons!  When you were on the other side making your soul contract, being an empath seemed like such an easy job to volunteer for as you were surrounded in unconditional love.  Perhaps you forgot how difficult it would be and now that you’re here, you no longer want this responsibility?

This is when you really need to look at the greater good of the service that you’re providing versus how it sometimes makes you feel.  By absorbing these energies, you are playing a HUGE role in the spiritual evolution of mankind.  Because you are an empath, the world is a much better place for all of us to live!

Now that I know what’s going on, what do I do?

There are coping skills that are specifically designed for empaths, such as shielding your body and developing your throat chakra.
